Spy Equipment: Giving Into Unfounded Fear or A Smart Choice??
If you’ve watched any action movies in the past 20 years you know that a huge part of what you see on the screen deals with spy equipment. Anyone that watched James Bond movies from the 70s up to today knows that part of what makes these movies so much fun are the incredible gadgetry that is used. But you might be wondering whether or not spy equipment is something that you should look into yourself. Not only that, but if you try to mention this to family or friends, you might get some funny looks as well. But there are some reasons that you might want to invest in equipment like this.
On one hand, you certainly don’t want to turn into the “creepy paranoid dude” that we all seem to know in our lives. There’s always someone that is a conspiracy theorist and that has way too much time on their hands for things like this. But spy equipment does have its uses. On the one hand, you could, of course, set things up just before you go on vacation. This can include hidden cameras or microphones if you’re not sure if your home is safe. Another reason you might want to invest in spy equipment is for your children. These days with the ready availability of Internet and computers, it makes sense to install some type of monitoring device on your family computer when your children are younger. While we all want to trust our children we also need to know if they log onto sites that they should see so that we can talk to about it and explain to them what they’re looking at.
Of course, there is the old standby reason when it comes to spy equipment: the cheating spouse. This is one of the main reasons that some people get into purchasing this type of equipment in the first place. With advances in technology, you can have cameras, microphones and even bugs installed so that they never know anything is amiss. Naturally, you’ll want to make sure you have probable cause first.
Something else you want to consider that most people don’t is to put some sort of spy equipment in your car when your teenager goes to borrow it. Not only does this give you an accurate record of how fast they were going and whether or not they were telling the truth about where they’re going, it could also help in things like accidents and the resulting court cases.
One final thing to consider with spy equipment is that while it might seem paranoid and mistrustful, if you use it for the reasons I’ve outlined above, you’ll be able to keep your family safer and know what is going on so that you can stop disasters from happening. But you also need to understand that there’s a fine line between doing something out of love and taking it too far and being completely overprotective with regard to your children or your spouse. You really have to double check that your reasons for wanting spy equipment are to truly benefit your family and not for your own personal gain.
